Les Alvarezsauroidea constitue une super-famille de dinosaures théropodes maniraptoriens, ayant vécu du Jurassique supérieur à la fin du Crétacé, soit il y a environ entre 161,5 et 66,0 millions d'années. Ils sont connus en Amérique du Sud et du Nord, ainsi qu'en Asie.
Ce taxon, ainsi que le taxon supérieur des Alvarezsauria et celui inférieur de la famille des Alvarezsauridae, ont été décrits par Choiniere et ses collègues en 2010.
