Étymologie Lézard des marais

Telmatosaurus est un genre fossile de dinosaures ornithopodes, un membre basal de la super-famille des hadrosauroïdes ayant vécu en Europe à la fin du Crétacé supérieur (Maastrichtien), soit il y a environ 72,2 à 66,0 millions d'années. Ses fossiles sont connus en Roumanie, dans la région transylvaine d'Hațeg et en France, près de Fox-Amphoux, en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. On ne connaît à l'heure actuelle qu'une seule espèce valide, Telmatosaurus transsylvanicus.
