Étymologie Dent cannelée

Rhabdodon est un genre de dinosaures ornithopodes herbivores qui a existé en Europe à la fin du Crétacé supérieur (Maastrichtien) il y a environ 70 millions d'années. Ses fossiles ont été trouvés en Espagne, France, Autriche et Roumanie. En plus de l'espèce type Rhabdodon priscus, une seconde espèce a été décrite en 1991 par Éric Buffetaut et Jean Le Loeuff : Rhabdodon septimanicus. Mais il se pourrait qu'il s'agisse de la même espèce.
