Étymologie Reptile perroquet

Psittacosaurus soit « lézard perroquet » est un genre éteint de dinosaures ornithischiens cératopsiens primitifs du début du Crétacé inférieur qui vivait en Asie, il y a environ 130 à 100 Ma. C'est l'un des genres de dinosaures le plus riche en espèces, puisqu'on en connaît au moins dix espèces grâce aux fossiles trouvés dans les différentes régions des actuelles Chine, Laos, Mongolie et Russie, avec la possibilité d'existence d'autres espèces en provenance de Thaïlande.
