This fossil is the reason I ended up at the museum. It was the subject of a paper that redrew the phylogenic tree of birds and dinosaurs, to place Archaeopteryx on the dinosaur branch rather than the birds. I noticed that the fossil is at a museum in an area of China I was going to visit. www.nature.com/nature/journal/v475/n7357/full/nature10288... www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-14307985 rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/early/2011/10/18/... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiaotingia www.tynhm.com/china/ © Bruce McAdam · CC BY-SA 2.0 · Wikimedia
