Megalosauroidea

(Nopcsa 1928)

Les Megalosauroidea constituent une super-famille fossile et possiblement paraphylétique de théropodes ayant vécu du Jurassique au Crétacé supérieur (Maastrichtien). Leur distribution est mondiale puisqu'ils sont connus sur l'ensemble des continents mis à part l'Océanie et l'Antarctique où leurs restes n'ont pas encore été découverts. Ce groupe comprend certains des plus grands prédateurs terrestres à avoir vécu sur notre planète mais les membres de ce clade sont généralement de taille moyenne.
